What different doses are available for viagra?
Viagra comes in three doses: 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. The initial recommended dose for the majority of men is 50mg, taken a maximum of once a day.
Depending on your health, how effective the drug is and how you react to it, the dose may be increased to 100mg, the maximum recommended dose, or reduced to the lowest dose of 25mg.
Viagra is taken as needed, half an hour to an hour before you have sex. It can however be taken anywhere up to four hours before sexual activity..
Viagra will only help you to get an erection if you are already sexually stimulated, so you need to be in the mood for it to work.
Some other medications can interact with Viagra, so make sure that you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking before taking Viagra. The drug is also not recommended for men with certain medical conditions, so make sure that your doctor knows about these too.

Viagra 25mg tablets
Viagra 25mg tablets are the lowest dosage available. Because there are certain medications that interfere with Viagra, you may be prescribed this dosage if you take any of them.
Viagra may be prescribed in the lowest dosage (or may not be recommended for you) if you take any of the following medications as they may cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure:
alpha-blocker therapy to treat high blood pressure or prostate enlargement
drugs to treat HIV
You may be prescribed the lower dose (or Viagra may not be recommended) if you have any of the following health conditions:
low blood pressure
You can take Viagra 25mg from four hours to half an hour before you have sex. It should be swallowed whole with water.
If the lowest dose of 25mg does not have the effect that you want, you should speak to your doctor about whether it is safe for you to take a higher dosage instead.
Viagra 50mg tablets
Viagra 50mg is the dosage normally recommended for men who are having erectile problems. Depending on how you react to the 50mg dosage, the doctor may recommend either decreasing the dose to 25mg or increasing it to 100mg.
The 50mg dose of Viagra can be taken by men over the age of 18 who don’t have any medical conditions that could be made worse by the effects of the drug. There are also certain drugs that can interfere with Viagra (see above).
Viagra can be taken as a daily dose with water, and only one dose a day should be taken. Viagra 50mg should be swallowed around an hour before you have sex, but can be taken as much as four hours before or as little as half an hour before sexual activity.
If you’ve taken Viagra 50mg but you’re not getting the erection that you want, you can talk to your doctor about switching to a higher dose.
It is important before you take Viagra that you discuss your full medical history with your doctor. If you experience dizziness, chest pain, or feel sick while having sex after taking Viagra, you must seek medical help immediately.
Viagra 100mg tablets
Viagra 100mg is the maximum available dosage of the drug. Even though this is the highest dose, you won’t automatically get an erection after taking it. You still need to be sexually aroused for Viagra to work, even at the highest dose.
Viagra 100mg usually begins to work within half an hour to an hour of taking it. You can take it as long as four hours before having sex. You must only take one dose of Viagra a day. It’s best to take it on an empty stomach, as fatty foods in particular can slow down the time that the drug takes to work.
To take Viagra 100mg you must be healthy with no underlying medical conditions. Viagra can cause side effects that could potentially be serious in people with certain health conditions.
Viagra works by relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis, so it can have an adverse effect on blood pressure and the cardiovascular system. Certain medicines can cause dangerous effects if taken with Viagra, including:
alpha blockers (used to treat high blood pressure or prostate enlargement)
medicines taken if you have suffered a heart attack or stroke
drugs used to treat serious kidney or liver problems
medications containing nitrates
Make sure that you talk to your doctor if you notice any unwanted reactions to taking the 100mg dose of Viagra. They may recommend a lower dose of 50mg or 25mg to you.
Taking Viagra at doses of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg has been shown to be safe for use for many men in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Make sure that you tell your doctor about your medical history and that they are aware of any other drugs you may be taking that could interfere with Viagra so that they can recommend the best and most effective dosage for you.
